Head & Heart
The Richardson Advisory Group is focused on a combination of head and heart. The head is an expertise of the independent school search and application process. The heart is working with students to become their best self and unlock their potential. There is no right or wrong school, but there is a right school for each student.
While each school search yields an outcome, I can promise that our time together will be relational and not transactional. I have advised hundreds of students during my years in the classroom, on the athletics fields, in the dorms and during the admission process. My role as an educational advisor is truly focused on getting to know each student and what makes them tick. This process is about building relationships, helping students better understand themselves, and ultimately helping them find a place where they will feel connected, comfortable, and confident.
The process is also about understanding the nuts and bolts of what is becoming an increasingly complex process. We will draw on my experience as a key decision maker in a selective admission process as well as my first-hand experience in different boarding and day school settings.
First, however, we will get to know each other – strengths, weaknesses, hopes and fears – to name a few areas. We will work hard, leave no stone unturned, and have some fun along the way.
FROM THE FOUNDER
My grandfather often said that “education is something that no one can take away from you.” He believed in working hard, playing hard and making the most of the opportunities in front of you. My strong belief in the power of relationships came from him and will always guide the work that we do together. Thanks Popsy!
